At AudioCodes, we offer the best quality and value in today’s ultra-competitive UC market. The recent Microsoft Teams deployment at the Bosch Group reveals why they selected our world-leading voice-enabling technologies to deliver flexible, global voice connectivity, smooth migration from legacy solutions and centralized voice network management and monitoring.

The Customer

The Bosch Group is a leading global supplier of technology and services, employing some 395,000 people worldwide. Its operations cover Mobility Solutions, Industrial Technology, Consumer Goods, and Energy and Building Technology.

The Challenge

Over the years, Bosch’s voice network infrastructure had essentially morphed into a collection of communications silos from an assortment of different vendors. To maximize productivity and collaboration among its global workforce, Bosch decided to standardize its communications infrastructure on a single unified communications (UC) solution.

Microsoft Teams voice calling with Direct Routing, a cost-effective and easy-to-manage cloud-based solution, ticked all the right UC boxes for Bosch.

However, the migration to Teams posed several challenges. These included the multiplicity of platforms, avoiding user disruption, ensuring reliable local PSTN and SIP trunk connectivity, integrating legacy devices like fax machines and managing the entire network efficiently.

The Solution

We at AudioCodes already had a long track record of successful collaboration with Bosch. This, along with the fact that our broad range of voice solutions are certified for interoperability with Teams, made us the natural choice of partner for this major global project.

Bosch chose AudioCodes Mediant Direct Routing session border controllers (SBCs) for seamless voice connectivity between Teams, the existing Skype for Business platform, their legacy IP-PBXs, the PSTN and SIP trunking networks. The sheer flexibility of our extensive SBC range meant that a truly cost-effective solution was possible at all of Bosch’s locations regardless of the local setup.

Because they were still using a whole bunch of legacy analog devices, such as phones and fax machines, Bosch selected our Teams-certified MediaPack analog gateways to seamlessly integrate them into the new Teams UC environment.

To manage and monitor their entire network simply and effectively, Bosch opted for our One Voice Operations Center (OVOC) to easily configure and troubleshoot devices remotely, as well as monitor network voice quality in real time.

Finally, AudioCodes’ experienced professional services and technical support teams added even more value, helping Bosch design reference implementations and carrying out a successful security audit with an independent, third-party vendor.

The Results

AudioCodes’ comprehensive portfolio of voice networking products and solutions for Microsoft Teams environments enabled Bosch to unify its complex global voice network and provide standardized Teams-based communications to all employees, all while reducing operational efforts and maintenance costs.

“By providing seamless voice connectivity between Microsoft Teams, our legacy systems and public networks, AudioCodes has enabled us to attain our goal of achieving a reliable, state-of the-art voice calling experience for all our employees whether in the office, working remotely or on the go.”
